Summoners War a Week in Review (7/3/17 to 7/9/17)

Summoners War a Week in Review (7/3/17 to 7/9/17)

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

Last week I was able to make some incredible progress in Summoners War.  A few things definitely helped contribute to that progress across both my accounts.  First and foremost, you should always be trying to take advantage of Free Rune Removal (FRR).  The next thing that helped was really a little Summoners War RNG.  Nothing like a little Random Number Generation that falls in your favor, something I will talk about a little later.

Theme

As I have talked about FRR before in the past, my focus for this weeks theme will revolve more around Summoners War RNG and Summoners War Summon Rates.  I think this is always a fun, exciting, and most definitely frustrating topic for all Summoners.  Not just in Summoners War, but also in many other games or challenges you may potentially face in life.  Especially, with things like becoming a millionaire by winning the lottery! Seriously, not advocating that.

Account Progression

KidMythras Alt Account

This past week I hit my 60 days of account creation!  My Alt account is moving along pretty quickly, and I plan to write a separate piece, and probably video just to talk more indepth about how far I made it in 60 days.  I do want to mention a few high-level items about the topic though.  First, Summoners War has made it much easier for noobs to play the game.  The addition of Reina’s Challenges have really helped get a good footing in the game.  With the rewards really helping to tee you up for success, and to be honest layout a good game path that wasn’t there before.  I like how they broke it down for specific topics of focus as well.

Also as everyone knows my favorite Faimon Hell Farming with Lapis! Seriously though, I did six star Lapis first after my first 30 days of game play.  Here is the link to what I did achieve in 30 days: http://www.gamertagmythras.com/summoners-war-first-30-days/

Faimon Hell Farmer Lapis

One of the major reasons I did this is it created an immediate focus for the account, and a farmer.  You will most likely spend most of your time farming stuff, and early game Summoners War Experience for you monsters is crucial for progression.  It definitely paid off for me in the first days of game play, and didn’t give me room for hesitation on who to six star.  Also, to be honest I hadn’t summoned any monsters that would lead me to immediately want to six star anyway.  Closest at that time would have been Water Harp Magician.  However, I would have preferred a damage dealer like Hwa.  Also, I have been farming Faimon Hell with a Fatal Blade set! More to come on that as well, some additional tips for this.

The other piece I wanted to mention was the steady progression I have already made in Monster Fusion.  My summoning sessions have got me very close to completing the Wind Valkyrja Katarina.  I am one Water Grim Reaper Hemos Away.  Most of the monsters I also have leveled up due to Lapis.  I have also fused Baretta, and made great progress on Veromos.  Following my personal Veromos Guide:

Summoners War RNG & Summoners War Summon Rates

Now a quick fun discussion point on the Summoners War Random Number Generator.  First off, the Summoners War RNG Gods were in my corner last week.  I was able to summon some killer monsters across both my accounts that made my day.  I did my largest summoning to date and am currently editing the videos for everyone.  I will let you know that I got my Galleon, not only once but twice! So that is a little RNG love right there, and one on each account.  Very happy about that, and you will just need to subscribe so you don’t miss the Summon Session.

Now as far as RNG goes in Summoners War last week someone posted on reddit the summon rates.  Apparently in the Korean server or something they became visible.  I am reposting the list here from a reddit article: https://www.reddit.com/r/summonerswar/comments/6k7yb8/summoners_war_rates_exposed/

Mystical and Elemental Scrolls

  • Nat 5 – 0.5%
  • Nat 4 – 8.0%
  • Nat 3 – 91.5%

Exclusive Stones and L&D

  • Nat 5 – 0.5%(so 10,000 stones)
  • Nat 4 – 8.0%
  • Nat 3 – 91.5%

L&D

  • Nat 5 – 0.35%
  • Nat 4 – 6.0%
  • Nat 3 – 93.65%

Legendary and Transcendence

  • Nat 5 – 6.5%
  • Nat 4 – 93.5%
  • Nat 3 – Just Kidding

Transcendence is self explanatory.

Temple of Wishes

  • Rainbowmon – 1.6%
  • King Angelmon – 1.6%
  • Crystal 10/15/20 – 22.4%
  • Crystal 50/100/150 – 2.0%
  • Mana 10,000 – 28.9%
  • Mana 30k/50k/70k – 2.0%
  • Mana 150k – 1.5%
  • Energy 15 – 24.0%
  • Arena Wings 5 – 12.0%
  • Mystical Scroll – 2.0%
  • Rune – 1.5%
  • Monster – 0.5%

Essentially Summoners War RNG is not so random anymore!  Which is another reason why I wanted to talke about RNG.  In reality you could argue its not really random because it is defined by a set of criteria.  This would then make it Pseudo Random.  Why its PRNG is that there is a determined set of criteria.

DivineMythras

To save some time here a little overlap as before.  Had some Summoners War RNG land in my favor on my main.

To cover Free Rune Removal a little more in depth it was definitely more of a focus on my main account.  To prepare for it I had a Rune Crafting Session where I crafted over 50 runes!  I was able to get some Legendries and some other six-star runes to enhance a few of my monsters.  Last week’s FRR was also one of the most successful in terms of monster upgrades.  I re-runed Stella, Baretta, Hwa, and stripped some of my lower monsters to transition them to 4-star fodder.  All-in I spent well over six million mana upgrading the new adjusted runes on them as well.

Rune Craft Session

A couple other key notes was that I six starred Stella, and awakened her.  I completed Summoners War R5 for the first time.  Another video to come there.  On top of it all I was able to skill up Homie’s level four skill.  I have one last skill to enhance on Homie and he will then be complete!

Major progress last week on my main account all around.  Definitely one of the biggest boosts in a while things to some RNG love, and the Summoners War Free Rune Removal.

Summary

Wow this has been a wordy blog with a lot of heavy topics.    Lots of those topics I could spend a ton more time and probably will in the future.  Especially since they could each have their own blog I’m sure!  I hope you enjoyed the progression on my alt and main.  Additionally, I hope you enjoyed seeing the Summoners War Summon Rates, and hitting the topic on Summoners War RNG in doing so.  Until next time Summoners keep on summoning!

Summoners War a Month in Review (3/27/17 to 4/2/17)

Summoners War a Month in Review (3/27/17 to 4/2/17)

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

Wow I’m lazy.  This past month had been really hard for me to stay on top of a weekly blog, and apologies to those who reached out, and wanted to hear about how my progression was doing.  With that said this week I am going to take a look a look back at the whole month of March! We start that Summoners War Homonuculus grind, do we finish?

Theme

This week’s theme will be centered on laziness.  I’m kidding, I am actually going to focus on Homunculus!  Yeah, that’s right.  The main reason is because in the month of March I was able to summon the beast mode monster, along with a few other things.

Month of March

In the past month I made some major strides along a bunch of lines.  Instead of trying to write it all out I’m actually going to take a little bit of a different approach by listing out a bunch of things that happened:

  • Completed Level-Up Event
  • 6* Lisa (Rational was for raid)
  • 6* Astar (Improve completion expectancy with Necromancer B10 – It worked)
  • Completed Friends Event
  • Hall of Heroes: Fire Samurai (B6)
  • Week of 3/13 I started Hommie Grind
  • TOAN 100 Completed
  • Summon Session: Chasing Trophy Monsters – Orion Attempt Second Try (Summoned Iris)
  • Awakened Kumar
  • Awakened Iris
  • 6* Sigmarus (Help Fire Rift)
  • Week or 3/27 Summoned Homunculus
  • Real-Time Arena Placement

Chasing Trophy Monsters Orion

I like to think the list above is a fairly good chunk of stuff I was able to complete over the last month despite some actually technology issues with my phone.  I have an HTC One M9, and it’s been over heating all the time.  I recently went in to get it replaced, and in doing so lost some videos like the Homunculus summoning, unfortunately I did not have it backed up.

On top of it all the majority of the down time was honestly spent grind double experience.  As you can see I was able to 6* three monsters in the month of March which is three times my average on one a month.  Mainly due to the timing of the events that occurred in the month.

Homunculus

Honestly in my opinion once you start hitting A’s on the rifts Homunculus is very doable.  I sort of was needing some change from all the double experience grinding so I decided to occasionally rift, which turned into I’m going to farm Homunculus.  However, the thing to know is once you do summon him, you still need to farm skills, skill him up, six star, awaken, and rune.  Your job is not done, and that’s when the Homunculus life really begins.

In all honesty I was told not to focus on Homunculus from multiple sources due to where my account was at.   However, I felt that trying to continue to tweak a monster here and there or swap out wasn’t going to improve my game enough at the pace I wanted to make that time worth it.  That is one additional reason why I decided to farm Homunculus.

Obviously I now have Homunculus, but in looking back on that choice I believe it was the right one to make.  Mainly because it allowed me a casual break in the farming that I had currently been doing, and it was a nice change of pace for something that I found of value.

A lot has happened over the month of March! I just need to soak it all in, and figure out my next steps which will be to continue working on my Hommie.  I am very happy I was able to accomplish so much over the last month and get some lucky summons.  Until next time Summoners keep on summoning.

Summoners War a Week in Review (1/30/17 to 2/5/17)

Summoners War a Week in Review (1/30/17 to 2/5/17)

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

This past week I made a fairly sizable shift in my strategy for the upcoming week.  With that said I will discuss this week why I decided to move that direction.  On top of that I was able to complete the Water Phoenix Sigmarus Fusion!

Theme

Summoners War Focus is this week’s theme.  Ideally, building off the previous weeks Sigmarus Fusion coming to fruition, and moving forward with a new strategy on how I want to progress.  I don’t plan on over killing the Sigmarus Fusion as I covered that quite a bit last week, but I did put together a Water Phoenix Sigmarus Fusion Guide on things to consider as a Summoner to help at any stage in the game.

Water Phoenix Sigmarus Fusion Guide

Sigmarus is definitely playing in to my going forward Summoners War Focus agenda.  Personally, I am closing in on a year of Summoners War I am excited to say.  However, on top of that I am actually starting to regret my account progression. I feel like I haven’t actually achieved enough, on where I would like to be.  It is because of this regret I am actually trying to make a year end sprint, as like a marathon you want to finish strong.

Mainly this regret is rooted in the fact I haven’t beat Necropolis B10 yet.  I am currently at Necropolis B7.  With that said, my goal is to try and crank that out as quickly as possible.  I spent my Summoners War Superbowl day grinding double experience, and building Colleen to help with this task.  On top of that I maxed Sig at 5 stars.  I am hoping going into next week I can potentially six star them to help with the progression on where I would like to be.

Necropolis B7

The other thing I would like to do is get at least a B rating on Rift Fire Beast, and I think Sigmarus will definitely get me there.  The reasoning is primarily as follows, with B ratings or better across the board I will set myself up to get Homonuculus.  I am not currently aggressively pursuing, but I want to be able to take a break once and a while and do some rifting.

Free Rune Removal

The Free Rune Removal day is always one of my favorite events.  Unfortunately for me I did not take full advantage of it this time around.  Prior to the event I spent a good portion of the week running Dragons B10 for Runes.  I honestly only upgraded Theomars, and the rune was a Speed Rune I crafted.  Theomars is definitely a truck though right now.

The other thing I did was take a look at Rune Optimizer.  I was curious to see how this could help me out with my journey.  The one thing it did do was affirm my current rune builds on my monsters, and that I was currently optimized correctly.  On top of that I was approaching everything in the right methodology, which was definitely nice to know.  I believe the application can definitely help provide insights on your rune sets, and Summoners War Gameplay.

Rune Update

I was able to crank out a decent amount of runs (about 150) in preparation of FRR.  I even got one of my first Legendary six star runes from DB10.

Giant B10 Run Count: 103

Dragon B10 Run Count: 358

The_Stand Guild Wars

The_Stand is back! At least the guild was able to finish strong this week, with probably one of its best performances.  We also added a new player to the group, and look forward to their contributions in the future.  We won most of the defensive battles, but we did finish less than 500 on attacks.  An area for improvement again, but personally I did screw up a battle that I could of closed for a win.  The problem I have is a lot of times I like to let others attack first, and in doing so I sometimes forget to finish up my attacks.

Summary

It was a great week completing my Sigmarus fusion, and formulating my Summoners War Focus strategy in my final few weeks to my one year.  Aside from the regrets as mentioned I have a plan going forward with some goals I am hoping to achieve in Summoners War.  Until next time summoners, keep on summoning.

Summoners War a Week in Review (1/23/17 to 1/29/17)

Summoners War a Week in Review (1/23/17 to 1/29/17)

Summoners War Fusion progression became the focus of last week’s gameplay.  Inevitably it did not start out that way via the weeks planning, however I had three twelve hour double experience boosters I needed to use up.  I sort of ended up landing on working towards fusing a new monster for my team out of chance, to some degree.

Theme

Fusion lessons learned was the theme for last week.  Despite previously fusing Veromos a while back there were a lot of things I forgot about when it comes to fusing a new monster.  It is also because of those shortcomings I was not able to quit get there, and receive the new monster.  I definitely should have re-watched my own video.

Veromos Fusion Guide

Like I mentioned earlier I had three double experience boosters to boot.  It was because of these I just happened to take a look at my Fusion Monster tree to see if I was close to anything.  It so happened that I had everything for the water phoenix Sigmarus.  It was because of this I spent all of last week working towards Sig.

First off, one thing I do is when I get fusion material monsters I typically lock them.  Then during times when I have boosters I tend to try to get them to four stars and maxed for a couple of reasons.  One, at four stars they can help you with the World Boss, which I have been able to get three attacks in daily now for quite some time.  Next, you can do exactly what I did by checking your fusion chart every so often and see how close you are to fusing a new monster.  This strategy helps reduce time, and pain of the fusion process if you keep it in the back of your mind like me.

Fusion Lessons Learned

There are a few things I briefly want to mention to help you in your Fusion preparation mind state.  Mainly a few things I forgot, and why the Fusion process can be rough.  The process itself is very resource draining, because you could supplement all the mats used to awaken monsters you plan to keep, and even get to a six star monster much faster.  As the process takes four five star monsters in fusion to get a one five star monster.  Ideally you are trading up in monster power though, but it can be a significant shift in the short term by losing things like fodder, mats, and potentially 13 monsters to help with the world boss.

When starting out your fusion process make sure you have enough mana.  Often people, including myself forget that it is quite a bit of mana to fuse monsters.  Luckily as mentioned I had double experience boosters so I could offset my low mana by grinding Faimon Hell, and Hydeni as I was leveling up the monsters needed to obtain Sigmarus.

Honestly, it wasn’t even the leveling that bothered me as I was planning on doing it for three days anyway.  The problem came when I needed the awakening materials.  I forgot how much it took, and I was severally short on regular Magic Essence.  I was missing roughly 60 mid-level awakening materials.  This took me another day and a half to collect, and I eventually paid to change some of my mats into the mid-level magic essence.

Then after that grind I realized that I would need to do it again, since that was just for all the base monsters for Sigmarus.  One nice thing was that I timed it well with an all elemental dungeon weekend so it made it relatively easy to spend my weekend collecting the rest of the materials.

One thing I also want to point out, and a major mistake on my part is make sure you also start the fusion process a day after the free rune removal day.  As there were some runes I still wanted to keep, and it was fairly expensive to remove them, on top of that it was a pretty noob mistake on my end.  Just another point I wanted to pass along in case you are thinking about fusing a new monster like me.

In the end I did not get Sigmarus fused, but I am hoping to complete him in the coming week.  I am excited to have Sig in my team, and at the very least a relatively stronger monster then the materials I put into him.

Rune Update

I didn’t run a lot of B10s this week, but am updating with stuff from the previous week as well.  Going forward runs are after update V3.2.1

Summoners War a Week in Review (1/9/17 to 1/15/17)

Summoners War a Week in Review (1/9/17 to 1/15/17)

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

This was the first full week into the new year of 2017 in Summoners War, and a lot went down! Not only did Com2Us change up the Cairos Dungeon Drops, they switched up Hall of Heroes with update v3.2.1.  This week I accomplished an impressive Summoners War Milestone.  Summoners War Trial of Ascension Normal Stage 100 is no small feat.

Theme

This week’s theme is knocking out of the park! Do you ever get so happy or nervous that you are going to screw something up and get the shakes?  Or you experience something for the first time that is sort of surreal and you think you are in the wrong place? Well that is sort of how I felt this week getting to Trial of Ascension Stage 100.

First time Beating Trial of Ascension Stage 100

If you have been adamantly reading my weekly blogs you will also understand why this is such a big deal to me.  Previously the highest I was able to ascend Summoners War Trial of Ascension Normal was Stage 78.  Completing all 100 was a huge improvement relative to my last performance.  I was even able to up my TOA Hard to Stage 49 from 36.  As probably already noted I was severely happy to complete this and reach a new milestone in Summoners War.

What was different?

Honestly, the biggest improvement I believe in my TOAN team was the runes.  As mentioned the previous week, and I believe I mention it in the video, I was able to make really good use of the Free Rune Removal day.  I swapped out like 7 runes to 6 star on my main monsters.  Then going into TOAN I had them all upgraded to level 12 or better.

The other piece of this was I really worked on rotating my monsters around.  I was able to auto to TOAN Stage 75, and TOAH 33.  Once I hit the walls, I started working with my team, and paying attention to the stage battles.  I would jump in at times when I needed to target specific monsters.

There was no special monster that was summoned from my last TOAN attempt.  Also, I didn’t use any new six star monsters in TOAN either.  The one thing I do like about this is it helps show the scalability of the game where if you put in your time and effort you can reach new heights in Summoners War.  The pay off is great too, because now I should hopefully be able to get a new legendary scroll every 30 days with my team.

Trial of Ascension Strategy

I will definitely say I don’t think my strategy is or was as typical of what summoners probably do.  In my case you see I am very heavily heal based.  I went for big health, big heals, and chip damage.  The strategy obviously ended up paying off for me as I was able to complete Stage 100.

Team: Veromos (Leader), Theomars, Belladeon, Iona, Chasun

Like I said above, I was extremely nervous once I hit TOAN Stage 100.  I was worried I was going to get there and fail miserably.  My crew was able to best Stage 100 on the second try.  I definitely recommend not going straight to the face on the final boss, and taking the crystals out first.  Unlike me, you may be able to beat him on the first attempt.

Update v3.2.1

Hall of Heroes Wind Pirate

I really enjoy the new Hall of Heroes update for a few different reasons.  First and foremost I was able to get more pieces in the update then I could grinding all weekend.  The second is instead of grinding Hall of Heroes all weekend I was able to work on other Summoners War things.  I felt like I was winning all around! I was able to get to level 6, tried multiple times, but the monsters at 5/6 with the rezzing and damage I couldn’t best.

Rune Drop Update

A few weeks ago Com2Us said in their developers notes they were changing the Rune Drops in Cairos Dungeon.  To make a long story short they have removed four star runes from Dungeon Floor 10 runs.  This is a big deal as it should improve the runes you get on the runs ideally allowing you to get your monsters to where you want them faster.

The other thing they mentioned was that the drop rates would remain the same.  This is something I am curious about, because were 5 & 6 star runes actually dropped at the same rate?  I don’t think so, and if not how does this effect things going forward?  I’ve decided to continue my previous experiment prior to update v3.2.1 to test this out.

Rune Update

The Summoners War Update v3.2.1 put a halt on the drop rate percents, as I was trying to get to at least 1000 runs before tallying anything.  However, I have already started to pull together the data to see where we get.  I have also as mentioned above began efforts on the next data set for comparison.

Summoners War a Week in Review (1/2/17 to 1/8/17)

Summoners War a Week in Review (1/2/17 to 1/8/17)

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

Summoners War progression success definitely happened last week. The past Summoners War week was deceivingly successful in my opinion.  The majority of the progress stemmed from all the randomness of the weeks gameplay.  However, it can definitely be measured in my mind from the free rune removal day quantitatively.  The progress also includes Rift Raid runs, Wind Battle Mammoth Secret Dungeon, and of course the rune runs for the week.  On another note it was a complete turnaround in Guild Wars for the week with quite a twist.

Theme

This week I embarked on a random journey that led to a lot of in game progress for my Summoners War account, and it is for that reason of the back bone of last week, I will go with the theme of success.  It really was a big turnaround in Summoners War performance on many levels this week. The biggest thing I would say collectively was The_Stand guilds performance.

Last week The_Stand failed miserably.  This week I reworked the teams, cut the attacking and defending members down to 10 total from 13 the previous week.  Surprisingly this made all the difference, and in one area I was not really paying much attention to.  You are definitely aloud to laugh at this piece as well, we made C1 for the first time as a guild. Now that might not be the funny part, but this certainly is…We did it with a losing attacking record…Yeah, that is right we went 3-7, and didn’t fight two matches unfortunately.

At this point you are probably either still laughing or scratching your head.  What was this special factor allowing us to make C1 for the first time as a guild? Well, here is something to think about, that a lot of times we forget about in Guild Wars.  I will put it plain and simple “Defense”.  Yeah, we ended up going 9-0 in our defense for the week.  We climbed from the bottomless pit where we were sitting last week, all because of our defense.  With that said, I am going to pay a lot more attention to this in the future.  On top of that, we do not set easy defense anyway, so I was extremely happy to see this turnaround for the week.

Another item of focus this week for me was inspired by a fellow guild mate Wargod.  War was looking for some Rift Raid help, so before having the opportunity to sync up, I pushed my monsters to the max to see if I could clear some new levels.

Rift Raid Level 2

Rift Raid Level 3

For not really doing my Rift Raiding, as you all know from my previous posts this was also very successful.  On top of that I was able to develop a decent carry team that can be seen in the videos for Rift Raid Level 1, to help out my guild mate Wargod.  We ended up syncing up and running raids about 10 times before Wargod accidently fell asleep. It was pretty funny.

Another big achievement for the week was paired with GB10 & DB10 runs along with the weekend event Free Rune Removal Day.  On Wednesday I decided to really push my rune hunting to prep for the weekend event.  Stuff really paid off last week for me because I was able to swap out seven five star runes for six star, and then spent around 1.5 million mana leveling those to twelve for the time being.  This was a huge improvement for all my main monsters, which were primarily my six star ones.  I am very excited to see how things go, and already have noticed some efficiency and speed improvements with the rune upgrades.

One of the other big pieces for the week was again the weekend event.  This time it was the Wind Battle Mammoth Secret Dungeon.

I was able to get over 400+ Wind Battle Mammoth pieces during the event over the weekend.  My goal was to get 400 which I was able to surpass.  I set this goal for two reasons.  First, of which was if I happen to summon Dark Battle Mammoth Basalt, I can skill him up.  The next has been from previous monster leveling experience.  I have typically ran into bottle necks by not having enough fodder and the event was able to help me add some fuel to the fodder fire.  A lot of people also use Water Battle Mammoth, and it is because of all these reason I decided to push the Wind Battle Mammoth Secret Dungeon over the weekend.

Rune Update

Giants B10 and Dragons B10 runs were definitely a focus last week for Free Rune Removal day.  Strong progress was made, and I am closing in on the one thousand mark for Giants.  Hopefully, I can get it done before the drop rate adjustment, but we will see.

Giant B10 Run Count: 750

Dragon B10 Run Count: 219

The_Stand Guild Wars

We had a huge turnaround finishing Conqueror 1 for the first time as a guild.

Summary

The past week of Summoners War was an exciting one, with a lot of progress made on multiple fronts.  I was extremely pleased with The_Stand Guild War results this week, and hope we can win more attacking battles in the future.  I was so happy I was able to upgrade so many monsters with rune improvements with the FRR event, and glad I was able to help Wargod along with improving my own Rift Raiding for the week.  Until next time Summoners, keep on summoning.

Summoners War a Week in Review (12/26/16 to 1/1/17)

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

First off Happy New Year Summoners! I hope everyone was able to ring in the Summoners War New Year in style!  In reality I hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year’s around the globe. To be frank this week there wasn’t much happening aside from the general grind of the game, and some guild short comings this week.  It wasn’t the start to the Summoners War New Year I was hoping for over the past week, but it has left some room for improvement.

Theme

It is because of those short comings the theme for this week is going to be focused on failing and what can be done to improve upon those issues.  The two major pieces that were a struggle was the Summoners War Special Christmas Stockings Event, and this week’s Guild Wars.  Everything just did not come together for me, and the guild this week unfortunately.

In the case of the Summoners War Special Christmas Stockings Event I fell extremely short of completing the event.  I also feel a little short changed, and I will explain in a minute.

Summoners War Special Christmas Stockings Event

If you watch the above video you will probably see why.  After 14 days of the event I was able only to get 33 stockings! I fell short of completing the event by 67, let along I wasn’t able to get what I really wanted which was the Devilmon.  This was definitely frustrating as I haven’t fallen this short in completing an event in a very very long time.  However, I am more frustrated that in my opinion it was definitely not the lack of gameplay.

This is primarily due to the face I was able to roughly run Giants B10 almost 250 times in the week! On top of spending a day using an experience boost.  My theory, which I did not test specifically was that running Faimon Hell yielded a better drop rate then GB10.  Even if we do the math on the 33 stockings vs the 250 GB10 runs it puts us at a 13% drop rate.  Now I know that’s not the rate as some of the stockings were collected in the previous week, and were collected from farming Faimon Hell.

With the above said I believe the drop rate is probably 5% or less.  Like all good Summoners War players we love to know our stats, and odds! Luckily, I have been taking screenshots every single GB10 and DB10 run for statistical drop rates.  I went back through the data, and here is what I found the drop rate to be for GB10.  I ran GB10 roughly 250 times this past week (I used the last 250 screenshots, so some from last week for calculations).  I only had nine screenshots of stockings!

This gives us the values of 9/250, and the odds of getting a stocking from GB10 3.6%.  In essence to collect all 100 stockings from GB10 based off the given information we would need to run GB10 roughly 2,800 (2,777) times to complete the event.  Now, you can probably argue that 250 runs may not be statistically significant, but it definitely gives us a good idea of the rate drops of special event items like the stockings.

As previously mentioned it wasn’t quit the lack of gameplay, as I know increased my GB10 overall rune runs by almost a third, it was more the fact of how much more I needed to play! Granted, as special the Summoners War Special Christmas Stockings Event was and the rewards it was most justified in my opinion.  Games and events like this are made for us to work for good rewards, and the effort is well rewarded.  I think overall that a roughly 4% drop rate for special items like stockings is fairly justified based off the rewards even though as mentioned I am frustrated for not being able to complete the event.

Rune Update

Giants B10 runs was a big focus last week.  It was extremely helpful in calculating stocking drops for the Summoners War Special Christmas Stockings Event.  In fact as mentioned above I was able to complete roughly 250 runs!

Giant B10 Run Count: 627

Dragon B10 Run Count: 176

The_Stand Guild Wars

This was the worst week in The_Stand finishing 0 – 11 for the week.  Honestly, I don’t quit know what happened here, and there is only room to go up at this point.  I will readjust the attackers for the week.  I literally felt at one point I do not know how we can fall any further, but that was not the case.  This week I know was definitely not typical as you all know from previous posts, but it was definitely the worst.

GamertagMythras PvP

This was a good week of PvP for me aside from the Guilds failures.  I was able to finish F1 with a rating of 1291.  This was just shy of my highest PvP performance from two weeks ago.

Notable Mentions

World Boss

I maintained my G1 status for the World Boss for the Week.

Glory Sop Building Upgrades

I advanced multiple buildings this week after weeks of PvP.

After & Before pictures of buildings.

Secret Dungeons

I finished off a few secret dungeons I did not have all the pieces for this week.  I got all 40 pieces of the Dark Bearman, and collected 40 pieces for the Water Mystical Archer.  The Water Mystical Archer is the last monster I need to complete to fuse Baretta.  Completing monsters from the secret dungeons was significantly helped from the all element dungeon event over the weekend.

Summary

The Summoners War New Year definitely had its struggles for my guild and myself.  However, reflecting on the week there were hints of progress, and a decent contribution I hope to the community around special event drop rates like the stockings of the Summoners War Special Christmas Stockings Event.  I have a lot to improve on next week, and until then keep on summoning summoners.

Summoners War a Week in Review (12/19/16 to 12/25/16)

Summoners War a Week in Review (12/19/16 to 12/25/16)

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

The past week was really a Summoners War Christmas, and was rather slow for me due to the holiday celebrations with friends and family, but I am definitely not complaining about that.  With that said I would like to say “Happy Holidays Summoners”.  This time of the year is one of my favorites to spend with friends and family, and the fact that I have little nephews and nieces now makes it a whole lot more interesting.  It is very amazing to see the joy on these young children’s faces for some extremely simple gifts relative to the later years when it’s all about expensive technology.

Anyway I digress back to the Summoners War Christmas week.  We saw a huge change in the community as Com2Us offered a onetime purchase for $100 to receive a nat5.  The nat 5 is received via a new scroll called the Transcendence Scroll.  This is the first time they have done anything like this.  Even though I am a Free to Play (F2P) player in Summoners War, I was happy they did this.  Mainly because I know a lot of players who still have not received a nat 5. Also, it’s currently a onetime deal, however if I was a betting man I would suggest it could possibly show up again in the future.

Advanced Pack Onetime Purchases – Transcendence Scroll (Nat5)

Theme

To be honest I don’t have a particular theme for the week or agenda, but I would say it was definitely a hodge podge of stuff to say the least.  So, I am going to go with the theme of hodge podge for last week’s progress as it was really all over the place, and quite sporadic with a Summoners War Christmas really being all over the place in my opinion.

If there were two things that I would say ended up happening with some focus for the week they would be prepping for Baretta, and DB10 runs.  The Baretta prep grew out of last weeks A week in review blog because a fellow summoner was wondering why I didn’t use Baretta in ToA.  Honestly, I just hadn’t got Baretta yet, and I figure might as well get Baretta Fused now if I want to hopefully help my ToA Progression.  On top of that I had a few two times experience rewards that needed to be used up.  This paired well with the “Merry Christmas! Special Christmas Stockings Event”.  I did not end up fusing Baretta, so I do want to throw that out there.  I am missing the Water Magical Archer at the moment, but am hoping in my next Chasing Trophy Monster Session I should be able to get her.

Then as I mentioned before about it being a hodge podge of a week, as I found the time I just decided to run Dragons B10.  As I mention a little later I ended up surprising myself how much I was able to run it for the week.  There really wasn’t any time improvement or anything on it, I did however move away from the nuke to the face to the crystal clearing technique to lift my 70-80% completion to almost 100%.

Rune Update

I made a rather large stride in Dragons B10 runs this week, which kind of surprised me after looking back.  I was really happy about this.  It was the one thing where I really felt like I made some progress.

Giant B10 Run Count: 379

Dragon B10 Run Count: 168

The_Stand Guild Wars

It was a good victory filled week for The_Stand finishing 7-4 for the week.  We did not get all the battles in unfortunately. We did end up losing a ton on defense which is one of the major contributors to why we ended at 1005 rating for the week.

GamertagMythras PvP

This was not a good PvP week for me.  Even though I got in 198 attacks I finished at Fighter 3 status, and most of it was only collecting three victory points instead of four.

Angelmon Secret Dungeon & Devilmon Secret Dungeon

There were a barrage of awesome Angelmon Secret Dungeons over the weekend.  This is always a fun weekend event.  I was able to spend some time collecting Angelmon and definitely made sure to tackle the Devilmon Secret Dungeon.  I ended up spending my time over the weekend in the Angelmon Secret Dungeons instead of the Free Trial of Ascension, and unfortunately ToA didn’t quite work out well with my Holiday Schedule.

Here are some throwback videos on the Angelmon Gardens.

Fire Angelmon Garden

Wind Angelmon Garden

To date I have completed all dungeons and floors of all the angelmon gardens.  After looking back at some of the older videos, I realized this secret angelmon dungeon event did not have light or dark angelmon.

Notable Mentions

World Boss

I maintained my G1 status for the World Boss for the Week.

Rift Beasts

I was able to get B- status for the first time on the Wind Beast in the Rift Worlds.  I wanted to try it out again as I haven’t spent a lot of time rifting over the past weeks.

Runes

I was able to level two six star runes to 15.  I was very excited about this as some of the previous weeks Faimon Hell Grinding from the experience and resources was able to help me accomplish this, but alas I am once again mana poor.

Summary

It was definitely a fun filled hodge podge Summoners War Christmas week! With the Special Christmas Stockings Event going on and chances to collect stockings at every turn it definitely worked out.  I like to believe that any game time played is hopefully some progress, but this week definitely didn’t land me much further along than the previous week aside from the Dragons B10 runs.  Again, I would like to wish you a Happy Holidays, and until next time summoners keep on summoning.

Summoners War a Week in Review (12/12/16 to 12/18/16)

Summoners War a Week in Review (12/12/16 to 12/18/16)

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

Summoners War over the past week was quite brutal to be honest.  Coming off the back of the previous weeks Rainbowmon Party with Penguin Event I really wanted to complete the whole event.  Making it definitely worse for myself, and most likely a significant loss of resources that were underutilized in my opinion.  However, sometimes that is the name of the game, and sacrifices must be made to get there.  I also deviate to some real time PvP in the World Arena Special Opening Event.

The past week also features something new to the Summoners War a Week in Review blog which was Trial of Ascension (ToA).  To date I have not covered tha, and that was an additional focus for the week. Mainly due to the ToA reset, I wanted to see how far up the ladder I could climb.

Theme

Piggy backing off the previous week, we will continue this past weeks theme in similar fashion of an experience grind with a twist.  The twist being the ascension of ToA.  I know a lot of users who read the blog like to benchmark my progression against their own gameplay.  This is one of the many reasons why I enjoy sharing even minor successes week over week, to help provide gamers with an idea of their own personal progress with Summoners War.

First and foremost as mentioned in the intro for the week I was able to complete the Rainbowmon Party with Penguin Knight Event…barely.  I finished it off with roughly nine hours left.  The last monster I decided to six star was Megan for the event.

It was definitely rough as I decided not to use experience boosters this week, and I didn’t have the necessary fodder to do it quickly coming off the week before.  It was because of not having the appropriate resources I had to slog it out the hard way.  This meant as I mentioned last week I continued the experience grind in Faimon Hell with Lapis because it is a slower grind, and I could at least build back some resources.  With the slow progression I was able to get enough scrolls to slowly meet my needs for the evolution fodder, however it was not quick.

A user I ran into on Reddit mentioned based off the last post why not farm Aiden Forest to get the necessary fodder.  I did spend time trying out this strategy, and there are a few things I wanted to mention.  They suggested doing Aiden and Faimon on Hard to not get the crafting materials, and increase scroll drops.  The thing I discovered about this was even though you get the scroll drops hopefully at a higher rate its 2 per drop instead of 5.  I also, tested out my Lushen to attempt Aiden Hell, as I do believe that’s better farming then Faimon Hell once I am able to do it.  Alas, Lushen got crushed, but now I have something additional to work on for farming.

Ultimately these are the kinds of discussions I want to drive, and look at new ways to approach Summoners War.  I think the suggestions were great, but after testing for my personal taste I decided to continue with my Faimon Hell Lapis slow grind for the week approach.  The other thing the user incited me to do was to continue the actual area progression.  I forgot that I hadn’t completed everything so I decided to close out Chiruka Remains Hard to finish off the Hard difficulty mode of the game.

Trial of Ascension

Aside from that minor distraction during the week I pursued two others.  Those other distractions were Trial of Ascension and the Third World Arena Event.  Previously for Trial of Ascension I was able to get to Stage 67.  This time I was able to improve that to 78 for Trial of Ascension Normal.  I also was at Stage 29 for TOA Hard.  I was able to best Stage 29 and improve the climb to Stage 36.

Trial of Ascension Stage 75 Beat

World Arena Special Opening Event

Last week I did take a good part of my day to pursue the new World Arena Special Opening Event.  I crafted a pretty fun interesting video of the experience.

I learned a lot about the World Arena, and definitely its difficulties or really what my gameplay lacks for live PvP interactions.  I thought jumping into battle right away would allow me to ascend the leader boards quickly, but man was I wrong.  You definitely want a good diversity of monsters when you take up Arena, and definitely some semblance of a strategy.  Which to be completely honest I really lacked that part for the World Arena.  That strategy is also a smidge different then general PvP.  Lots of similar things I saw were using Bernard for speed and attack bar boosts to quickly get off your first round of attacks on your opponents.  Another strategy was using fire epikion priest Chloe’s third skill Fanatic to make your units invincible getting off your attacks, and picking the best utilization of your monsters skills.  Overall, I am glad I spent a decent chunk of time on this, and look forward to spending more over the course of the event as it is 30 days long.

Rune Update

Aside from the experience grind, I was able to sneak away for some Giants Rune grinding over the past week.

Giant B10 Run Count: 352

Dragon B10 Run Count: 38

The_Stand Guild Wars

This week The_Stand finished 500 (6-6), and closed in with a rating of 1004.  There were definitely some guild wars we should have won, but that’s just how it goes unfortuntately.

GamertagMythras PvP

Closed in probably my highest rating ever for a week at 1298.  I am continuing the low defense until Sunday grind.

Fire Martial Cat Secret Dungeon

Notable Mentions

World Boss

I maintained my G1 status for the World Boss for the Week.

Summary

Over the course of the past week I eagerly took on some much needed distractions from the experience grind of Summoners War, but with that said was able to finish out the second six star monster for the event.  On top of all of it I made great progress in Trial of Ascension, and participated in the World Arena Special Opening Event.  Like always summoners until next week, keep on summoning.

64276_565620653571930_7285554612847581195_n

This past week was a Summoners War experience grind, and I set out some hefty goals to align with the event Rainbowmon Party with Penguin Knight Event.  I was on the hunt to make not one, but two six star monsters in a week.  Unfortunately, that goal never came to fruition, and despite all my planning and outline I ran into some significant challenges I did not foresee.

The nice thing about last week is despite not making my goal for the week I was able to learn some valuable things to share with the community which I plan to share in an additional blog outside of the weekly blog in the coming weeks on six star efficiency for monsters.  Part of the reason I am not doing it today is I want to make a good informative video for the community, and re-validate my findings.

Theme – Summoners War Experience Grind

The goal of the week also drove the theme which was experience grinding.  I wanted to accomplish the task of seeing if I could make two six stars in a week, and as mentioned above I ran into some problems which I will explain.  I spent Monday to Friday afternoon grinding experience, I utilized two of the 12 hour experience boosters I had in my rewards, and then purchased a three day booster with my crystals.  Everything was pretty much on track until about midday Wednesday.

When I first started the event I only had about 100k-200k mana, which in past grinds hadn’t been an issue.  However, as discussed above I decided to try out some other tactics for efficiency sake which I will explain.  Currently, I have been using Lapis to Farm Faimon Hell, which I highly recommend using if you don’t have a farmer.  Also, I have added a new reason to the list of why you should do it.

I decided to make a transition away from Lapis, and test out my Lushen which I was able to get from a weekly rotation a while back in a Chasing Trophy Monsters Episode.

Well, not fully surprisingly Lushen killed it.  I mean seriously, using Lushen to farm Hydeni is a great choice.  I improved my runs by about a minute and thirty seconds on average.  The only real loss was about 900 experience across the three monsters I was grinding.  Or so I thought…

Lushen Farm Stats Lushen Farm Stats

(UPDATE: LUSHEN FARM STATS)

What I realized after several swift energy refills, and quick Hydeni runs, I was suffering in the mana department.  Don’t get me wrong I love running Hydeni with Lushen now, but what I realized throughout this process is that it’s not self-sustaining.  This unfortunately led me to my second issue.  One I didn’t think would be a drag, but was far worse in my opinion.

I never really thought I would run out of unknown scrolls! Who would have thought that could happen.  It became so bad I was leveling one star monsters and evolving them.  Has anyone else ever had this issue?  One thing I definitely think has contributed to the depletion of unknown scrolls was the Homocoulus Patch. I believe drop rates were significantly reduced.  I had roughly 600+ scrolls starting out the week for my goal, and by day 2.5 I was out.

Having no unknown scrolls was awful and significantly deteriorated the process and experience.  This was a big learning lesson for myself, and I have now found value of not just feeding the one star monsters after this.

Once I realized the culmination of things that had happened to me with no mana in the bank, or unknown scrolls the perfect storm had been created.  I immediately went back to farming with Lapis in Faimon Hell to try and see if I could reverse the tide.  However, I found even that wasn’t feasible.  It was roughly five to ten runs to get five unknown scrolls if I was luck.  By then I had pretty much leveled my one and two star monsters.  Brutal!

This was a rough week, but I learned some valuable lessons.  Sometimes, things that are definitely a huge increase to your gameplay like Lushen for experience grinding, may come at a detriment to other areas of your game play.  All in all the nice thing was I did end up with one six star in less than three days, Verdehile!

With that said if everything was right, and I knew what I now know from the experience I should have been able to complete the event in a week’s time or less.  It was a great learning lesson, and I hope you find this useful in your own experience grinding, and attempt to complete the Rainbowmon Party with Penguin Knight Event.  I was able to get everything done in the week aside from one five star, and my last six star monster.

Summoners War Experience Grind

Rune Update

This week’s grind was not focused on runes at all, and significantly slowed the process.  With that said here are the current results:

Giant B10 Run Count: 253

Dragon B10 Run Count: 38

The_Stand Guild Wars

Another interesting week for The_Stand.  I accidently started the week off by leaving out some new members.  I made a terrible guild leader mistake.  So, we focused on rotating players in and out which worked fine. We ended at 1008 rating, and had a winning record for the week of six wins and five losses.  We got behind during the week on our battles, so we didn’t complete the last one for the week.  One interesting note was we started off extremely strong and at one point during the week high C1 or Conqueror one star.  That was definitely a first for the crew!

GamertagMythras PvP

Definitely not a record week for personal battles ensued.  However, even with the reduction of the amount of battles it was a record breaking week rank wise.  (Reduction of roughly 40 battles) I ended at 1267 rating putting me in the top 45k in players.

Hall of Heroes Dark Kobold Bomber

Following the Summoners War experience grind for the week, I transitioned to grinding the Hall of Heroes Dark Kobold Bomber Event on Friday.  I worked on this event the rest of the weekend to complete the event so I could have a Dark Kobold Bomber for the account.  I don’t always summon the monster after the completion of the event, and in this case I collected my 41 pieces to sit on.  I like to collect one extra so that if for some reason I want to summon additional I can use my guild points to by additional summoning pieces.

(Update: Forgot Almighty Scrolls are only good for 10 pieces…logic above doesn’t work mainly to view past dungeons now)

Notable Mentions

World Boss

I was able to get back up to g1 in the world boss this week.

Mentor Mentee Update v3.1.9

Happy to say I filled up my Mentee slots.  Thanks to those on reddit who watched the video and added me on Global.  In the future those of you who need a Mentor feel free to reach out to me either through this site or in game.

Summary

The Summoners War experience grind definitely ran into some setbacks, but on the bright side learned a lot in the process.  I was able to six star Verdehile, which as always getting a six star monster is something to be happy about.  I made some new friends from the Mentor Mentee Update, and was able to complete one of my favorite monthly events Hall of Heroes.  Until next week Summoners, keep on summoning.
