Summoners War a Week in Review (2/13/17 to 2/19/17)

Like last week, apologies for being a day late again.  I was traveling yesterday, and did not have time to make the weekly post on time.  With that said I am quickly closing in on a year of Summoners War! However, I do not think I will be able to make all the goals I had set. A big piece of that has been due to time, there just wasn’t quite enough run way to get there.  On the flip side I was able to take a TOAN stuffing from the previous month with Artamiel and work out the kinks.

***Note per feedback next week I will include a list of times and progress for tracking (Sorry didn’t have time for it this week)***

Theme

This week’s theme is going to be along the lines of Summoners War persistence.  I want to go by that as its sort of two fold.  First, it’s the persistence of being able to beat TOAN 100 again for this cycle.  Then it is also Summoners War persistence because as I begin to move into year two of Summoners war I have goals that I can carry over into the next year of gameplay.

TOAN

Coming off the back of last month’s roll over of TOAN and getting stuck at Artamiel I made it my Summoners War crusade to beat TOAN 100 right away.  There was no filly farting around, and I wanted to get straight to it.  I wanted to make sure I had ample time to work out any kinks instead of leaving a very tight timeline at the end of the TOA roll over like I typically do.

I was able to progress quickly like I have in the past getting to around TOAN 80 for auto.  I do pay a little attention at the boss levels sometimes, just to ensure a little efficiency.  It wasn’t until TOAN 80 Seara where I actually had to think about my strategy a bit.  In order to beat TOAN 80 I swapped in Hwa for slows and big hits to accomplish the task of going straight to the face.

This month’s TOAN 90 Aschubel seemed like a cake walk relative to last months.  I was able to quickly by pass it, and get to 100.  I was able to beat TOAN 100 first run through, with the same strategy I used last time to beat it.  The team I use works well by having big heals and big health.  I run Veromos, Theomars, Iona, Belladeon, and Chasun to accomplish the completion of TOAN 100.

Necropolis Update

I did not make any additional progress on trying to beat Necropolis B10 this past week.  I believe I need to re-rune Hwa violent if I would like to complete with some of my current monsters.  I am also sitting on six starring an additional one at the moment. That six star will most likely be Colleen, not only to help with Necro B10, but other areas of the game as well.

Rune Update

I will update the Rune counts next week, as I accidently already combined this weeks into the mix. Apologies again, but I did not run either that much as I decided to focus on TOA instead, so not really much of an update anyway.

Giant B10 Run Count: 103 – TBD

Dragon B10 Run Count: 358 – TBD

The_Stand Guild Wars

We had another good week in guild wars!

Rating: 1022

Rank: 5848

GamertagMythras PvP

This past week I did not play a lot of PVP.  Even though I flipped back to my old strategy I think I was just slightly north of 100 attacks for the week, still significantly less than my usual.

Notable Mentions

Wind Mummy Secret Dungeon

Runes Level 15

I was able to upgrade four more runes to level 15 this week.

Buildings

I leveled up 7 different buildings this week.  I figured based off last week’s TOA runs maybe my monsters could use a little more help.

Summary

Overall I was very happy with last week’s Summoners War persistence.  Being slightly grumpy of the TOAN 90 stuffing of the week before I was able to accomplish my goal last week of turning the tables on TOA.  I am looking forward to the next week as I will hit my one year of Summoners War gameplay, and continue to fine tune and work through my next set of challenges/goals.  Until then summoners keep on summoning.

Fire Emblem Heroes Review

Fire Emblem Heroes Review

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

Fire Emblem Heroes is a free to play tactics game released for iOS and Android February 2, 2017. The game was developed by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems.  Fire Emblem Heroes is an action packed game with an interesting storyline.  You eventually find out that the Heroes you are fighting with are trying to find their friend Zacharias.

Fire Emblem Heroes comes from Nintendo’s Fire Emblem product line. You can find more information about Fire Emblem here at Nintendo’s website:

https://fire-emblem-heroes.com/en/

Gameplay

I have been playing the game for about two weeks now, and have thoroughly enjoyed Fire Emblem Heroes. First, I like how the user experience is laid out with the game, and you can pick it up with relative ease if you haven’t played a game of similar style before.  The initial opening of the game you are summoned by a group of heroes: Alfonse, Sharena, and Anna.  They are embroiled in a fight with a young princess by the name of Veronica who is trying to destroy their kingdom of Askr.

Your job as the tactician is to ensure Veronica doesn’t achieve her goal of destroying Askr. You play with four heroes at a time fighting many different style foes.  As you progress throughout the game you will ally with more and more heroes allowing you to build unique teams to counter your enemies.

Intro

Fire Emblem Battles

There are three major pieces to the game you will become familiar with rather quickly. First, is the maps which is comprised of the Story Maps and Special Maps.  The Story Maps are the general game progression, and range from a Normal, Hard, and Lunatic mode across 9 Chapters each with 5 Parts.  On top of that not only is there a Main Story but additional Paralogues.

Main Story Maps

The Special Maps allow you to essentially recruit new heroes to build your teams. Here each day is a refresh where you can attempt to defeat different heroes.  After completing the parts you will unlock them in joining your team.

Special Maps

The Second piece of the Fire Emblems Battles icon is the Arena Duels. Here you are able to fight fellow tacticians and send invites in a non real-time PvP match.  Moving up the ranks and gaining more offense and defense points grants you better rewards at the end of the arena event duration.

Arena Duels

The last major piece of Fire Emblem gameplay with the battles is the Training Tower. As you unlock more chapters in the Story Maps more stratums open up for you to train your heroes.  You will spend a lot of time here.  A Fire Emblem Tip is to make sure to get use to using Auto-Battle, but be careful it can get stuck in loops, and isn’t necessarily always looking out for your best interest.  The Training tower is a great way to get experience for your heroes and level them up!

Training Tower

Fire Emblem Summon

One last piece I want to share is that as you progress through the game you will receive orbs allowing you to summon more heroes! Lots of times there are special rotations that feature heroes from many of the different Fire Emblem games.

Fire Emblem Summon

Conclusion

All in all I have thoroughly enjoyed Fire Emblem Heroes, and look forward to spending ample hours playing. I know there is a lot left to the game, but I think you have the basics.  Feel free to subscribe for additional Fire Emblem content as well as gameplay videos.  I hope you enjoy the game as much as I have!

Summoners War a Week in Review (2/6/17 to 2/12/17)

Summoners War a Week in Review (2/6/17 to 2/12/17)

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

First off, apologies to my weekly readers for being a day late.  I spent last week doing a site migration, and had work conflicts yesterday so this post did not go out on time.  I also want to say a big “Thank You” to all the subscribers as the YouTube channel reached 100 subs last week!

Last week was a close week on many things, but there was no cigar.  I spent a majority of the week grinding experience, and wasn’t able to six star, and became hesitant on who to six star next.  I made a little progress on Necromancer dungeons, but I still have a little bit to go.  On top of that I got stuffed at Artamiel TOAN 90.

***Note per feedback next week I will include a list of times and progress for tracking***

Theme

The ability to prevail is a big one, even when you feel like you are stuck and have nowhere to go.  This week Summoners War short comings has driven me to revitalize my strategy from last week.  I realized I need to refocus on some things to achieve what I have in front of me.  It was particularly frustrating not completing TOAN again this month, however I shouldn’t be leaving it to the last minute.  Also, I realized I need to retool a few of my monsters and will have to invest more time next FRR to change up HWA from swift to violent runes.

TOAN – Artamiel 90

Interestingly enough I was able to auto TOAN to 87 for the most part with my core team.  I tried multiple things to get past Artamiel, and really wish I had a better strategy to share around TOAN 90 Artamiel.  Here’s the adjustment I would make if I could.

First off, my Colleen is not six star nor is she skill maxed.  That is one thing I could have used on Artamiel.  The other issue I have, is I need to build Baretta specifically for a situation like this for the multi-dots.  A team that I found that worked out well was Baretta (L), Bella, Colleen, Theo, Vero.  You could also put Hwa in there potentially.  There are other good teams you could put in the mix or monsters like Chasun to get the job done.

Necropolis B8

I was able to complete Necropolis B8 this week.  I am going to have to re-rune Hwa I think to get a little further in the dungeons.  Also, as mentioned above I need to get Colleens skills maxed, but I think I can beat Necro B10 with her at five stars.

Rune Update

I will update the Rune counts next week, as I accidently already combined this weeks into the mix.

Giant B10 Run Count: 103 – TBD

Dragon B10 Run Count: 358 – TBD

The_Stand Guild Wars

We maintained above 1000 rating for the week which is very exciting as we haven’t done back to back weeks above 1k for a while.  Go Team!  I did miss the mark for this week on collecting the information.

GamertagMythras PvP

After last weeks blog, several people mentioned I should try and hit F3 or C1 before worrying about Necromancer B10.  I decided to push PvP a bit.  I got to 1407 on Thursday, and then didn’t play much.  I did get to F3 just didn’t try to maintain it.

Surprisingly I still finished fairly strong.  With that said I think I am just fine progressing on with Necromancer B10 now.

My personal belief on the PvP front and trying to get to F3 or C1 before Necro is as follows.  First, off you are better off farming the glory points every week instead of pushing higher on the ladder.  I went from 200 ish wins a week to finishing last week with 66 wins.  It could have been a problem with the amount of time I spent, but those are just my thoughts.

I found it fairly easy to get to F3 once I actually set my defense and deterred people from attacking.

Summary

This was a week where I did not quite progress as far as I thought I was hoping.  It was also a disappointing week in Summoners War when I couldn’t clear TOAN 90 Artamiel.  In the future though I think I have a better idea how to go about some of the things I am trying to accomplish, and just know it will take time.  I was glad I was able to get to F3 in PvP during the week validating other player’s theories on PvP over Necro B10, and shared some of my feedback around it.  Until next week summoners, keep on summoning!

Summoners War a Week in Review (1/30/17 to 2/5/17)

Summoners War a Week in Review (1/30/17 to 2/5/17)

Remember to subscribe to the weekly blog with your email, and the youtube channel for videos.

This past week I made a fairly sizable shift in my strategy for the upcoming week.  With that said I will discuss this week why I decided to move that direction.  On top of that I was able to complete the Water Phoenix Sigmarus Fusion!

Theme

Summoners War Focus is this week’s theme.  Ideally, building off the previous weeks Sigmarus Fusion coming to fruition, and moving forward with a new strategy on how I want to progress.  I don’t plan on over killing the Sigmarus Fusion as I covered that quite a bit last week, but I did put together a Water Phoenix Sigmarus Fusion Guide on things to consider as a Summoner to help at any stage in the game.

Water Phoenix Sigmarus Fusion Guide

Sigmarus is definitely playing in to my going forward Summoners War Focus agenda.  Personally, I am closing in on a year of Summoners War I am excited to say.  However, on top of that I am actually starting to regret my account progression. I feel like I haven’t actually achieved enough, on where I would like to be.  It is because of this regret I am actually trying to make a year end sprint, as like a marathon you want to finish strong.

Mainly this regret is rooted in the fact I haven’t beat Necropolis B10 yet.  I am currently at Necropolis B7.  With that said, my goal is to try and crank that out as quickly as possible.  I spent my Summoners War Superbowl day grinding double experience, and building Colleen to help with this task.  On top of that I maxed Sig at 5 stars.  I am hoping going into next week I can potentially six star them to help with the progression on where I would like to be.

Necropolis B7

The other thing I would like to do is get at least a B rating on Rift Fire Beast, and I think Sigmarus will definitely get me there.  The reasoning is primarily as follows, with B ratings or better across the board I will set myself up to get Homonuculus.  I am not currently aggressively pursuing, but I want to be able to take a break once and a while and do some rifting.

Free Rune Removal

The Free Rune Removal day is always one of my favorite events.  Unfortunately for me I did not take full advantage of it this time around.  Prior to the event I spent a good portion of the week running Dragons B10 for Runes.  I honestly only upgraded Theomars, and the rune was a Speed Rune I crafted.  Theomars is definitely a truck though right now.

The other thing I did was take a look at Rune Optimizer.  I was curious to see how this could help me out with my journey.  The one thing it did do was affirm my current rune builds on my monsters, and that I was currently optimized correctly.  On top of that I was approaching everything in the right methodology, which was definitely nice to know.  I believe the application can definitely help provide insights on your rune sets, and Summoners War Gameplay.

Rune Update

I was able to crank out a decent amount of runs (about 150) in preparation of FRR.  I even got one of my first Legendary six star runes from DB10.

Giant B10 Run Count: 103

Dragon B10 Run Count: 358

The_Stand Guild Wars

The_Stand is back! At least the guild was able to finish strong this week, with probably one of its best performances.  We also added a new player to the group, and look forward to their contributions in the future.  We won most of the defensive battles, but we did finish less than 500 on attacks.  An area for improvement again, but personally I did screw up a battle that I could of closed for a win.  The problem I have is a lot of times I like to let others attack first, and in doing so I sometimes forget to finish up my attacks.

Rating: 1029

Rank: 4855

GamertagMythras PvP

Another mediocre week in my personal PVP.  Made Fighter 1 again for the week, and I didn’t spend a lot of time on PvP.

Rating: 1234

Rank: 58177

Notable Mentions

World Boss

Continuing to hit A- on my first hits.  Which was a relief after spending vast amounts of resources to fuse Sigmarus.

Secret Dungeon First Mystic Witch

Level 15 Runes

I got a record setting 5 maxed six star runes this week.  It seems my average has been around two a week.  I was really happy about this.

Crafting

I spent sometime this week crafting 10 violent runes.  I was able to get a nice legendary and my first violent Speed Rune.

Summary

It was a great week completing my Sigmarus fusion, and formulating my Summoners War Focus strategy in my final few weeks to my one year.  Aside from the regrets as mentioned I have a plan going forward with some goals I am hoping to achieve in Summoners War.  Until next time summoners, keep on summoning.
